Places of interest include Golestan Palace, famous for its intricate mirror work, and the National Museum of Iran. Enjoy a wide variety of flavorful Persian dishes at some of our many restaurants, converse with the kind local people who are famous for their hospitality and learn about the fascinating history of Persia. You will have plenty of opportunities to take photos of the many parks, historic buildings, shrines and scenery in Tehran.
The impressive Alborz Mountains form the northern border of Tehran. Mountain streams and rivers provide water through underground aqueducts and this water flows through thousands of small canals that line many of the streets of Tehran and other cities and towns. A short drive from Tehran is the Tochal ski resort, one of the highest ski resorts in the world.
With one of the longest metro lines in the Middle East, as well as many buses and taxis, travelers to Tehran will find it easy to get around. Many Tehranis speak English, since it is required in school curriculums.
